HELEN HENDERSON: News

Gidday out there......

Been a long time since I have had a bit of a catch up with you all. So much has happened in the world it's not an easy time, but somehow we will make it through these hard times.

In New Zealand, a Hollywood feature film is being shot in my home town Invercargill by long time pal of mine New Zealand director Roger Donaldson. It stars Sir Anthony Hopkins and is called "The World's Fastest Indian." Hopkins plays Bert Monroe, an infamous man from Invercargill who souped up his old "Indian " motorcycle and on nothing more than fumes went on to break the world speed record in the U.S A. on the salt flats at Bonneville. He was in his seventies at the time.

Here's to another couple of New Zealand/American collaborations. Motorbikes and old cars and a beer or two... very much the stuff of the Southland I grew up in, and the deep South here in the States I could only dream about while my five of my big sisters jived and swooned to ELVIS. I am stopping over in Memphis maybe I will experience a sighting of the King. In the meantime I was lucky enough to sing on a national commercial that will start playing on the radio soon. So there is a lot to be thankful for for me right now and that includes all of you who have bought my CDs and come to my shows all these years.

LOVE, Helen xxx
